Em meio à tanta europeização e ocidentalização da China, nunca consegui entender a China em que vivo. Este é um projeto cru, nascido do silêncio das minhas palavras. Chinas e Chinas pulsantes, sujas, vivas. Corpos magnéticos; amor e ódio; silêncios. China, através dos meus olhos.

In the midst of so much Europeanization and Westernization of China, I have never truly understood the China I live in. This is a raw project, born from the silence of my words. Chinas, and Chinas pulsating, dirty, alive. Magnetic bodies; love and hate; silences. China, through my eyes.

Ao olhar para uma peça de arte, inclinamos nosso corpo, deslocando-o em posições variadas para degustá-la. Quando fotografo, meus olhos são minhas mãos, meus dedos, minhas unhas, minha respiração e meu diafragma. Art in Pieces é um projeto que tenta capturar peças de arte através de olhares pluri-sensíveis. É, também, uma tentativa de tradução neuroperiférica.

When we look at a piece of art, we tilt our bodies, shifting into different positions to savor it. When I photograph, my eyes become my hands, my fingers, my nails, my breath, and my diaphragm. Art in Pieces is a project that seeks to capture artworks through multi-sensory gazes. It is also an attempt at neuroperipheral translation.

As fotos deste projeto são, em parte, transfusões intersemióticas neuroperiféricas do álbum Parasomnia da banda Dream Theater, em especial da música intitulada The Shadow Man Incident. Outras influências referem-se às séries de TV intituladas The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor e The Fall of The House of Usher, do diretor Mike Flanagan.  Nascem também de minhas experiências carnais e sinápticas em meio à crise e a necessidade de vomitar através da garganta da mente. As fotos não passam por pós-edição, cabendo os resultados alcançados aos efeitos e às configurações pré-existentes em minha câmera.

The photographs in this project are, in part, neuroperipheral intersemiotic transfusions from Dream Theater’s Parasomnia album, particularly the song The Shadow Man Incident. Other influences refer to the TV series titled The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and The Fall of The House of Usher, by director Mike Flanagan. They also stem from my carnal and synaptic experiences amid crisis and the urge to vomit through the throat of the mind. Moreover, there is a reference to the aesthetic movement known as nightmarecore. The photographs undergo no post-editing, with the final results being solely dictated by the pre-existing effects and settings of my camera.
